1K a year Job Type Full-time Description We are seeking full-time Middle School Grade Humanities Teachers for the 2024-2025 school year for our 6th Grade classrooms in Hoboken and in Jersey City.
This individual will be responsible for teaching social studies and language arts and ensuring the pastoral care of the students.
This teacher is also responsible for the social and emotional curriculum for their grade level.
This is a 10-month, full-time teaching assignment starting in August 2024 and ending June 2025.
The contract duration is from August 16, 2024 through August 15th, 2025.
Standard work hours, benefits, and paid time off as per the Faculty/Staff Handbook.

Primary Responsibilities and Capabilities Experience with teaching humanities (social studies and language arts) to Middle School students with a commitment to the integration of the two disciplines Understanding of exploratory, inquiry-based approach with real-world application Ability to motivate and stimulate children's learning abilities through a range of experiences Ability to cultivate and maintain a safe and inclusive classroom culture that values all voices and appreciates various perspectives Experience in creating a safe environment for students to ask questions, take academic risks, problem solve and communicate their thinking Experience developing curriculum with the ability to develop, select and use informal and formal, diagnostic, formative and summative assessment strategies to assess student learning Proficient with using technology (Google Suite and use of Smart Panels and Chromebooks) Knowledge and experience with maintaining written records of individual student development, which includes competency checklists, narrative comments on reports and leading conferences with parents and students Collaborative and creative educator who is willing to work with colleagues of diverse backgrounds on pedagogical approaches, curricular alignment and instructional strategies with flexibility and resourcefulness Interpersonal skills to interact effectively and sensitively with a diverse population of students, faculty and parent body Skilled writer and communicator with a focus on timely communications with families Requirements Arrival by 8:
00am Attend a selection of weekly faculty meetings, Back to School Night, and formal Parent-Teacher Conferences (in fall and spring) Attend start of year and closing faculty meetings Attend grade-related field trips (including overnight trips if applicable) and certain evening events Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field, Master's degree preferred Minimum of three years of teaching experience Salary & Benefits Salary is commensurate with experience.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
