We are looking for a top notch acquisitions Senior or Executive Editor to head our Statistics and Mathematics book publishing program. The right candidate will have strategic vision, a results-driven focus and a strong industry network. Managing the day-today program you will be developing strategic editorial and operational plans to achieve financial and signing targets of 25 to 30 book projects annually while ensuring the development and management of the backlist; identifying and building strategic partnerships as well as searching opportunities to accelerate revenue and profit growth and ensure the acquisition and development of product that meet market needs.
Requirements:
3-5 years' book acquisition experience, preferably in: mathematics, or statistics or operations research
Proficiency with Windows working environments, especially Excel and Outlook
Familiarity with Cognos/Business Intelligence reporting systems preferred
Ability to work independently and take pro-active decisions
Willing and able to travel domestically primarily to events and conferences
Experience in managing a team or individual, desired
