DESIRABLE JOB
Qualifications:
Minimum three (3) years working full time as an experienced grounds person.
Pesticide applications license desirable.
Be capable of operating power lawn mower, leaf collection and snow removal equipment.
After training, be capable of operating engine driven power equipment i.e.: fork lift, pay loader, plow, compressor, etc.
Be capable of driving, or learning to drive, a manual shift vehicle.
Must process a valid driver's license.
Be a team worker.
Exhibit a clean and professional appearance.
Must be able to lift 100 lbs., climb extension ladders and work in confined areas.
Work overtime on emergencies.
Must have a good working knowledge of English to follow work orders, verbal directions and to order materials.

JOB DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
1. Preparation of the soil
2. Planting and transplanting
3. Weeding, lawn cutting and shrubs
4. Spraying trees and shrubs
5. Gardening and trimming hedges
6. Cutting and removal of trees, branches, etc.
7. Policing of campus grounds
8. Digging and trenching, as required
9. Support Special Event activities
10. Snow removal - plowing, shoveling, salting, etc.
11. Move furniture
12. Fill in for Physical Plant delivery person
13. Perform other related duties as assigned
14. Garbage pick-up
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Will be required to respond to off-hours emergency calls 24 hours as day, 7 days a week, during snow conditions.
To fill out work orders and order material(s)
Must be capable of lifting and carrying a minimum of 100 lbs.
Climbs, balances, stoops and kneels as job demands.
Work inside and outside. Exposed to wet and cold conditions.
