Sodexo has a job for a Chef Manager for our corporate client in Hoboken, NJ. This new account location includes one caf along with catering. The Chef Manager will lead a team of 5 nonunion employees.
Responsibilities include:
Daily food production of entrees, theme station, soup, catering and special function specialty menu items
Special function and catering planning with customers
Ordering and inventory responsibilities
HACCP and production records, to include monthly safety audits
Employee training to include monthly safety
Oversees the preparation, food quality, portioning, garnishing, ordering and storage of all food
Ensure unit financials are maintained accurately, verify daily deposit and ensure daily deposits brought to bank.
Payroll
Leadership of staff, employee scheduling and staff hiring decisions
Employee performance reviews
Planning of unit promotions and weekly menus
Maintain on site wellness programs
Interacts with customers and clients

Supervises cooks and oversees the preparation, portioning, garnishing, and storage of food. Estimates food consumption and purchases food. May assist in cooking and preparing food as necessary. This position is the leader for an account/unit chef/production group. This position is in smaller accounts/units where there is not a Executive Chef or Food Production Manager. Basic Education Requirement - Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree
Basic Management Experience - 1 year
Basic Functional Experience - 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
Sodexo will require a background check and may require a drug screen for this position.
